Whether you are an experienced player or someone who wants to try lacrosse for the first time, you are always welcome to join Helsinki Lacrosse Club. Lacrosse really is a sport for all. It’s a great way to challenge yourself, improve your fitness and become integrated into a great team sport. To start, you only need sports clothing and we will lend you the rest!
How to join?
Joining us is easy: we organize beginners’ courses and open practices in the fall, but you can also just come along to any of our regular training sessions and we will help you get started. Contact us via the contact form down below!
How much does it cost?
New players are welcome to train free of charge for a few weeks. Overall in Finland, lacrosse is considerably cheaper than many other sports, such as ice hockey or American football. All club members pay an annual membership and practice fee (approx. 250 €), and during the season, you will also need a playing licence (approx. 40 €) in addition to an insurance that covers lacrosse (approx. 250 €). Both the licence and the insurance are purchased through the Finnish Lacrosse Association, but you can also get insurance from a place of your choice.
Where and when do we train?
During the summer season (from April to September) we practice on Monday and Thursday evenings in Velodromi turf (Mäkelänkatu 70) and women practice on Wednesdays in Tali turf (Purotie 8). In the winter time (from October to April) we train on Tuesday evenings in Pallomylly, Myllypuro (Pikajuoksijankuja 9) and Wednesday evenings in Kumpula.
